Thanks to all those who took an interest in yesterday’s media about progress in the Artificial Pancreas. We note that some of the media coverage wasn’t clear about whether this announcement represents a complete Artificial Pancreas.
The facts are that research progress has been made and as a result, a more advanced insulin pump is now available in Australia. Working with CGM, this pump is designed to keep people safer from hypos, especially overnight.
This progress is an important step in the journey of JDRF’s Artificial Pancreas Project.
The Artificial Pancreas Project is working to keep people with T1D safe, healthy and reduce the burden of T1D through the use of technology. We’ve still got work to fully achieve our goal and we need your help to get there.
We welcome progress from all the companies working in this space and we look forward to supporting and promoting further progress wherever it arises.
