We’re searching far and wide for volunteers to join us at the upcoming Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington Racecourse. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who loves sport, socialising, fashion and (hopefully) getting out in the sunshine! Take a look at what some of our volunteers have gotten up to at recent events.

Little Zoe and her mum Lucy met Kris Smith and Hamish McLachlan at the MYER Spring Fashion Lunch earlier this month, while spreading the word about the Pin & Win campaign.

Then on Saturday 16 September, our volunteers were out in force, selling the souvenir Melbourne Cup pins at Sofitel Girls’ Day Out. Our CEO Mike Wilson was on hand to present the Pin & Win Plate to the winner of Race 2, and the grounds looked grand adorned in JDRF signage. Some of our lucky vollies even got to meet the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup, Michelle Payne (below).

Go behind the scenes at events like these, and help us sell pins in support of type 1 diabetes research, or even lead a team of volunteers.

Upcoming racedays we urgently need volunteers for include:

AAMI Victoria Derby Day – Saturday 4 November 2017
Emirates Melbourne Cup Parade – Monday 6 November 2017
Emirates Melbourne Cup Day – Tuesday 7 November 2017
Crown Oaks Day – Thursday 9 November 2017
Emirates Stakes Day – Saturday 11 November 2017

Food and drinks will be provided and all volunteers will have FREE access to the Melbourne Cup Carnival after selling pins. Invite your friends along to help raise funds for JDRF, and enjoy a fun day out at the races!

To submit your interest, please complete this short form or contact us on 03 8374 6200 or at pinandwin@jdrf.org.au
