The Perth Wildcats will once again join forces with Coles to help raise funds and awareness for JDRF.
From Wednesday 1 November, every $2 donation to JDRF at Coles stores in Western Australia will score you an exclusive Perth Wildcats player card.
There are 13 in total to collect – one for every Perth Wildcats player, plus a special one commemorating the 2017 championship-winning side and a Bryce Cotton Grand Final MVP card!
Last year, the Perth Wildcats helped raise $76,000 for JDRF with the support of Coles and this year, they’re hoping to shoot past this goal.
Dion Vilardi (left), 13, plays power forward for his basketball team and lives with T1D. His favourite player is Wildcats’ captain, Damian Martin. Dion has to balance his love of the game with the challenges of T1D, including fuelling for hypos with sugar tablets or sports drinks, and adjusting his insulin for period of the game or training.
“Perth Wildcats support of JDRF means a lot to me and my family. It gives T1D more of a platform and brings it to the attention of other people and it also says to me, no matter what illness you have even diabetes you can still become an elite athlete and your dreams can still come true.”
JDRF WA Development Manager, Kari Musick Sharp says, “The Perth Wildcats have had another record-breaking year with membership and their season started with a win. We are thrilled to be able to support the fans – the red army.”
If you’re in WA, pop into Coles to collect your cards! The promotion runs from Wednesday 1 November to Tuesday 14 November.
